An event offering plenty of fungi… the VIII Micrological Workshops of Júzcar, take place on November 14tth,15th and 16th in Monda for those who are fascinated by wild mushrooms in all their varieties.
Organised by the town hall, the workshops will feature speakers and a photo exhibition illustrating how to identify different species; with live cooking workshops demonstrating how to cook and enjoy these.
The workshops will feature species collected from Moratán and Bornoque areas, which lie in the Sierra de las Nieves, recognised as botanical and micrological jewels.
Júzcar is better known as the Smurf village, the first and only one in the world, with its houses painted blue and used in the film studio’s worldwide publicity for the Smurf movie. It is well worth a visit if on holiday with children, taking under 1.5 hours by car to reach via the A-7 in Marbella direction and A-397. Monda is just 40 minutes’ away using the A7 and A355 Ojén turn off.
