From 6th to 12th October, Fuengirola will be celebrating the Feria del Rosario, named after the town’s patron saint. It is a great opportunity to experience some true Spanish culture.
From horse processions, flamenco dancing, musical competitions and events, the coastal town of Fuengirola is buzzing with Andalucían energy. The casetas in the town’s fairground offer the chance to join in the flamenco spirit and you could try out the typical Andalucian Romeria drink, rebujito, which is a refreshing (and deceptively strong!) mix of manzanilla, wine, lemonade and a generous helping of ice.
The Plaza de la Constitucion will be strewn with silken flags and the interior of the church ablaze with hundreds of colourful flowers. Horses play a large part in the feria agenda with horse drawn carriage displays and the Romeria.
A day doesn’t go by without a beautifully turned out horse making its way along one of Fuengirola´s thoroughfares, with its riders decked out in traditional riding garb. It makes for a spectacular sight.
So, if you’re on holiday on the Costa del Sol during the second week of October, trot over to Fuengirola´s feria ground and give yourself free rein!
